How to launch a token on Arc with Argus

Arc is Circle's Layer 1 blockchain, and its mainnet launched on September 16, 2026. Argus (argus.world) is the main token launchpad on Arc: one transaction creates your token and opens its trading pool against USDC. This guide walks through each step of launching a token on Arc with Argus, using the hoodlums.wtf launcher.

What you need

  • A launch wallet, created or imported in your browser. There's no other wallet to connect.
  • USDC on Arc in that wallet: enough for the 1 USDC hoodlums fee and gas, plus any dev buy. No ETH is needed.
  • A logo, a name and a ticker for your token.
  • Your buy and sell tax, and where you want the tax to go.

Fund your launch wallet

A launch wallet works on Arc from the moment you create it, so there's no network to add. It only needs USDC. Arc uses USDC as its gas token: native USDC has 18 decimals, and the USDC token contract shows the same balance with 6. Either way it's one balance, which pays for gas, the hoodlums fee and your dev buy.

Copy the wallet's address from the launch wallets page and send USDC on Arc to it from any wallet or account that holds some. USDC on another network has to be moved to Arc first. If the wallet you're sending from doesn't list Arc yet, add it with these details from Arc's documentation:

Network nameArc
Chain ID5042
RPC URLhttps://rpc.mainnet.arc.io
CurrencyUSDC
Block explorerhttps://explorer.arc.io

Launching from a fresh dev wallet

Traders on Axiom and other platforms can see how many tokens a wallet has launched, and some pass on wallets they recognise. To start clean, create another launch wallet, send it enough USDC on Arc for the launch, select it and launch as usual. You keep its private key, and when you're done with it you can archive it rather than delete it.

How an Argus launch works

Argus is the main Arc token launchpad, and it works differently from launchpads with a bonding curve. A launch creates a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens with 18 decimals and opens a Uniswap v4 pool against USDC in the same transaction. The whole supply sits in one permanent liquidity position that can't be withdrawn, so there's no curve to fill and no migration later. Your token can be traded from the moment the launch confirms.

Instead of a launch fee, Argus earns from tax. Every Argus token has a buy tax and a sell tax that you set, and Argus keeps 10% of what they collect. You decide where the other 90% goes. That makes an Argus launch a good fit if you want to create a token on Circle's Arc that funds you, its holders, buybacks or its own liquidity as it trades.

If you'd rather have no custom taxes and a flat trading fee, hoodlums.wtf also launches on Arc through o1. The guide to launching a token on Arc with o1 covers how its 1% fee and launch fee work.

Launch your token, step by step

  1. Create a launch wallet

On the launch wallets page, create a wallet and save its private key somewhere safe, or import a key you already have. It signs your launches right in your browser, with no wallet pop-ups.

  2. Fund it with USDC on Arc

Send USDC on Arc to the wallet's address: enough for the 1 USDC hoodlums fee and gas, plus any dev buy. Arc pays gas in USDC, so the wallet needs nothing else, and Argus charges no launch fee.

  3. Add a logo, name and ticker

Open the Arc launcher, where Argus is the default launchpad. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo up to 4 MB. Names can be 2 to 32 characters, and tickers 2 to 10 letters or numbers, uppercased. A description of up to 280 characters is optional.

  4. Add your socials

Paste your website, X and Telegram links. They're recorded in your launch transaction along with your description.

  5. Set your buy and sell tax

Choose a buy tax and a sell tax from 1% to 10% each, with up to 2 decimals. The form starts at 3% each way. Both are fixed forever once the token launches, and Argus's 1% pool fee is added on top.

  6. Choose where the tax goes

Argus keeps 10% of the tax. Split the other 90% between creator funds, buyback and burn, holder dividends and liquidity with four sliders. Moving one moves the others, so they always add up to 100%.

  7. Add a dev buy if you want one

Enter an amount of USDC to buy your own token inside the launch transaction, before anyone else can buy. The launcher approves USDC for it first if needed. Leave it at 0 to launch without one.

  8. Review the total and launch

Check the launch preview: your taxes, the split, the 1 USDC hoodlums fee and the total with gas. Press Launch on Argus, and your launch wallet sends the hoodlums fee, then the launch, with no pop-ups.

  9. Share your token

When the launch confirms, copy your token's address to share it, view the transaction on Arc's explorer, or open the token on Axiom.

Launch settings explained

Buy tax and sell tax

Each tax can be set from 1% to 10%, with up to 2 decimals, and they don't have to match. Argus fixes both when the token launches, so they can never be raised or lowered afterwards. Argus's 1% pool fee is charged on top of them.

Where the tax goes

Argus keeps 10% of the tax collected. The other 90% is split between four destinations, which must add up to 100%:

  • Creator funds: USDC paid to the wallet you launch from, to claim later.
  • Buyback and burn: tax that buys your token back and burns it.
  • Holder dividends: USDC paid out to your token's holders.
  • Liquidity: tax added to your token's liquidity.

In the launcher the split is four sliders. Moving one moves the others in proportion, so the total is always exactly 100%. The form starts with everything going to creator funds.

Holder dividends setting

Argus keeps a dividends setting for each wallet, outside the launch itself, and a launch fails if the two don't match. You don't need to manage it: if your split pays holder dividends and the setting is off, the launcher sends a small transaction to turn it on before launching, and it turns the setting back off for a launch without dividends. The launcher says so under the Launch button when it's needed, and the total includes its gas.

Dev buy

An optional buy of your own token in USDC, made inside the launch transaction before anyone else can buy, so you hold your token from its first block. The launcher approves USDC for the buy first if your wallet hasn't already. Leave it at 0 to launch without one.

Opening snipe surcharge

Argus charges an opening snipe surcharge in the first 3 seconds after a launch. Your dev buy happens inside the launch transaction, before anyone else can buy, and doesn't pay it.

What happens after you launch

Your token trades in its Uniswap v4 pool against USDC as soon as the launch confirms. The success screen lets you copy its address, view the launch transaction on Arc's explorer, or open the token on Axiom.

As people trade, the buy and sell tax is shared out the way you split it. Creator funds build up in USDC for the wallet you launched from, so keep that wallet's private key safe. To see what others have launched on Arc with hoodlums.wtf, browse Arc token deploys.

What it costs

hoodlums fee1 USDC, sent as its own transaction before the launch
Argus launch feeNone. Argus keeps 10% of the tax your token collects.
GasPaid in USDC, and included in the total the launcher shows
Dev buyOptional, in USDC

Before anything is sent, the launcher checks your wallet can pay for everything, gas included, and shows the total next to your balance. The total counts the most gas can cost, and gas the launch doesn't use stays in your wallet. The launch is also simulated before the fee is paid, so a launch that would fail never takes the hoodlums fee. If you opened someone's referral link, 20% of the hoodlums fee goes to them in a separate transaction.

Questions about launching on Argus

Do I need to write code to launch a token on Arc?

No. Argus's Portal contract is already deployed on Arc, so a launch is one contract call. The launcher builds that call from the form, and your launch wallet signs it in your browser.

Do I need ETH to launch a token on Arc?

No. Arc pays gas in USDC, so your launch wallet only needs USDC on Arc: enough for the 1 USDC hoodlums fee, gas and any dev buy. Native USDC on Arc has 18 decimals, and the USDC token contract shows the same balance with 6, so it's one balance either way.

What does the Argus launchpad charge to launch a token?

Nothing at launch. Argus keeps 10% of the tax your token collects instead, and its 1% pool fee is added on top of your buy and sell tax on every trade.

Can I change my token's tax after launch?

No. The buy tax and sell tax are set when the token launches and fixed forever after that, so holders know they can never be raised. Pick them before you press Launch.

Why did my launch wallet send an extra transaction first?

Argus keeps a holder dividends setting for each wallet, and it has to match the launch. If your token pays holder dividends and the setting is off, the launcher turns it on first, and it turns it back off for a launch without dividends. With a dev buy, the launcher may also approve USDC before launching.

Is there a bonding curve on Argus?

No. Argus opens a Uniswap v4 pool against USDC in the launch transaction and puts the whole 1 billion token supply in one permanent liquidity position that can't be withdrawn. There's no curve to fill and no migration later.

Can bots snipe my token when it launches?

Argus charges an opening snipe surcharge in the first 3 seconds after launch. A dev buy is made inside the launch transaction, before anyone else can buy, and doesn't pay the surcharge.

Can I launch from a fresh wallet each time?

Yes. Traders can see how many tokens a wallet has launched, so some creators start each launch from a new wallet. Create another launch wallet, send it USDC on Arc, select it and launch. You keep its private key. Transfers between your own wallets are public on-chain.

Is hoodlums.wtf affiliated with Argus or Circle?

No. hoodlums.wtf is an independent interface for launching tokens through Argus on Arc. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Circle or Argus.

Copy an existing token instead

If you'd rather start from an Argus token that already exists, paste its address into the vamp bar at the top of the Arc launcher. It copies the token's logo, name, ticker, socials, description, buy and sell tax and split into the form, and you review everything before launching. If the token launched on o1 instead, the launcher opens the o1 launcher for you.
